Pinterest has become one of my favorite apps to use, when it comes to looking for ideas for food, clothing, decorations and promoting your work. But I also find it as a place of peace. Sometimes just looking a pictures and adding them to my boards are relaxing.
In the process of my browsing I’ve began to come across a lot of pictures of women having photo shoots in tubs filled with flowers. Now I’m a girl that loves a bath, especially during those times your body is sore, or you’ve had a long day and want a place to clear your mind and relax. My baths have always consisted of bubbles, some oil and if I really need to relax epsom salt (lavender).

Now could I imagine filling my bath water with flowers? Maybe for a romantic occasion but that’s about it. I barely know much about flowers because at one point I didn’t like them, though I am coming around, so, I wouldn’t even know where to start. The main question I had with the takeover of the floral bath was, is it for looks or are there actually benefits to them?
Here’s what I found – adding flowers and other herbs to your bath have healing benefits. I will list a few benefits of different flowers/herbs. Maybe it’ll convince some of you to turn it into a ritual and even make a cute Instagram post out of it.

Rose: Hydrates the skin
Sweet Jasmine: are you in a mood and looking to be uplifted? Sweet Jasmine is for you.
Lotus Flowers: Softens skin and reduces anxiety
Orchid: Reduces fine lines, wrinkles and contains antioxidant properties
Rosemary Petals: Boost blood circulation
Peony: Helps tone the skin
Looking for more of a spa feel, add milk into your bath. Milk baths help clean and exfoliate the skin, leaving you feeling as soft as a teddy bear.

Thanks to all of the benefits, physically and spiritually I believe floral/herbal baths are the new thing and it’s about time I give it a try myself. Have you had a chance to experience the greatness?
