The Housemaid Series Book Review

I’ve gotten back into reading thrillers, because I just haven’t been in much of a mood for romance…I blame that on the lack of it in my life, but with that said I decided to get into The Housemaid series by Freida McFadden.

Let’s start with the first book.

First off let me just say I gave it five stars because when I say it was a page-turner I mean it. I couldn’t put the book down, and even when I wanted to, it lasted for maybe 10 minutes.

Spoiler: Nina was not crazy like I thought she was…just completely over it, and I get it. I probably would have done everything in my power to get away from a man like the one she was married to.

As for Millie, the girl was going through it, but she was also getting on my nerves, but hey, that’s what makes a good story…hating at least one or two of the characters.

When Millie said this, “Do…” My lips feel numb, it’s almost hard to form the words. “Do you need help packing?” I almost had a heart attack. She was a bold one.

Rating: 5 out of 5.

The sequel didn’t pull me in like the first, meaning I didn’t devour it in a day.

It started off pretty slow, but by the time I made it to part II, I was shocked. So many twists that I wasn’t prepared for, but I loved it.

Millie as always was still working my nerves. I couldn’t believe she had allowed Mrs, Garrick to play her like a fool. The woman was truly a piece of ice and I found that out after reading this line:

“But even after you hear my side of the story, you might still think I’m a terrible person. You might think that Douglas didn’t deserve to die. You might think that I am the one who deserves to go to prison for the rest of my life. And the truth is, I don’t really care.”

She got what was coming to her by the time the story ends.

Looking forward to book 3 in the series.
